This page serves to share information about toxic algal blooms effecting Lake Erie. The blooms have occurred every summer for years, but in 2014 much greater concern was drawn when estimated 500,000 residents of Toledo, Ohio were told not to drink, bathe in, or give the water to their pets for 56 hours (Rosenkrans).
